Vodafone Fiji Launches 4G Plus With Birthday Celebrations

Twenty-two years since its inception, Vodafone Fiji has no doubt grown in leaps and bounds.
Vodafone Fiji chief commercial officer and acting chief executive, Ronald Prasad, has highlighted the company is on the right track for the future.
This comes as the 100 per cent locally-owned telecommunications company celebrates its anniversary this month with birthday promotions launched yesterday.
The company yesterday rolled out its 4G plus services becoming the first network provider here for the service.
The launch was done at the Vodafone Fiji Damodar City outlet in Suva.
“We have close to 10 base stations that have been activated on 4G plus and by the end of three months time, we will have around 75 base stations that will be on 4G plus,” Mr Prasad said.
Mr Prasad said those with 4G capable phones can now see the 4G+ sign when connecting to internet on Vodafone Fiji network.
“What this means is that all our customers and business partners will be able to enjoy faster speeds and be able to connect to internet more confidently,” he said.
Further plans
Mr Prasad stressed there’s a lot the Vodafone does not only for Fiji but for all its citizens here in Fiji.
“If you look at it, we are the name behind big sports in Fiji,” Mr Prasad said.
“As part of our celebrations, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers. It’s our customers who have made us number one.
“We have been in a very competitive environment operating for the past eight or nine years and we’ve remained Fiji’s premier and the best loved network.
“We cover around 96 per cent of our population. We’ve got the widest 4G coverage at around 16 per cent.”
Mr Prasad revealed Vodafone Fiji has got a very aggressive capex plan for this financial year where they are looking at taking their 4G coverage to almost 80 to 85 per cent of the country.
