Seven Chinese films will be screened at Village Six Cinemas in Suva as part of the Chinese Movie Week celebrations.

This is a result of a co-operation between the China Cultural Centre in Fiji and the Damodar Event Cinemas.

The weeklong event was officially launched by Damodar Group chief executive, Div Damodar and Chinese ambassador to Fiji Zhang Ping at the cinemas yesterday.

Mr Div Damodar said: “This is the first Chinese Movie festival in Fiji and we’re looking for bigger events happening.”

Chinese ambassador Zhang Ping said: “The Chinese Movie Week is just the very beginning of our co-operation with the local cinemas.”

The films are in Chinese-Mandarin with English subtitles. Movie ticket prices are $5 flat.
