Captain Cook Cruises To Boost Tourism In North

M V Reef Endeavour of Captain Cook Cruises will be coming to Labasa this Saturday.

Captain Cook Cruises general manager Tony Acland said it is part of their four culture cruise series which began in 2012.

“This cruise sails from Port Denarau marina for a seven night cruise to show case the diversity of cultures in Fiji and Labasa,” he said.

“We run this particular cruise four times per year.”

The shore excursions for Labasa include a guided bus trip around the sights of Labasa and a walk through the markets guided by one of the chefs on board.

“We expect to sail with 70 guests for this cultural cruise which calls into Kioa Island, Rabi Island, Kia Island, Labasa, Galoa, Yaqaqa and Nananu-i-ra,” he said

Meanwhile, the Special Administrator of Labasa and Savusavu Town Council Vijay Chand said this was good news.

“Surely the tourism sector in Macuata will greatly benefit from this cruise visit,” Mr Chand said.

“As usual we prepare our town creating a welcoming spirit for our visitors and I am sure they will cherish fond memories of our beautiful town and surroundings.”
