Around 91, 250 litres per household of free water will continue in the new financial year, said the Minister for Transport, Local Government and Infrastructure, Parveen Kumar, in Parliament yesterday.
He said it would target households with a combined member income of less than $30,000.
“To date, around 25,338 households are benefitting from this policy,” Mr Kumar said.
He said since the 2014 General Elections the Government department had provided 5750 solar home systems which provided power to a number of communities.
