The Vodafone Fijian Under-23 football squad marched into camp yesterday to prepare for the Rio Olympics next month.

“We are grouped in tough pool and we don’t want to go there and just to make up the numbers,” Fiji Football Association vice-president/national team director Tarunesh Reddy.

The Frank Farina –coached team play Korea on August 4, Mexico on August 7 and Germany on August 10.

“There is no excuse for non- performance at the Olympics as we have invested heavily on the players and we expect them to perform better.

“We released our players for the Vodafone Fijian FACT and we have monitored their performances. We will take 18 players which will be announced in a fortnight.”

Wellington Phoenix striker Krishna is one of definite starters after his impressive performance at the Oceania Nations Cup and the international friendly match.
