Labasa College Under-17 football team are beaming with confidence after CJ Patel Pacific Limited donated a set of jersey yesterday.

Labasa College teacher Roneel Ram thanked the company for their timely assistance.

“I would like to thank CJ Patel Pacific Limited general manager Khem Charan and marketing co-ordinator Rajiv Raj for the kind gesture,” Ram said.

“We’ve three soccer teams, Under-15, U17 and U19 and we only had two sets of jerseys.

“Previously players had to manage with whatever was available and the assistance has boosted the morale of the U17 team.”

He also expressed his gratitude to the Minister for Education Mahendra Reddy for reviving sports in schools, which helps in the holistic development of a child.

“This revival will enable Labasa to display the numerous talents that students in the North have,” he said.

“Who knows one day Labasa College will produce another Roy Krishna.

“The U17 team is laying down the challenge to Bulileka College in the Northern Zonal playoff final and we aim for nothing less than a win.

“Our focus is to win this final and qualify for the Fijian Secondary Schools Inter-District Championship.”
