RC Manubhai Suva found their winning form when they beat Namosi 18-8 in a thrilling Skipper Cup clash at the ANZ Stadium, Suva last night. The win has lifted Suva to second place in the points table.

What happened: Fullback Meli Kurisaru was in top form kicking six penalties for Suva’s win. The hardworking fullback was later named the Man of the Match for his superb performance. Namosi’s Solodrau Radinidrova scored their points with a brilliant try and later converted a penalty.

Halftime: Suva 9-3 Namosi

The second half was a heated affair where Namosi stole the show by scoring the only try of the match. Suva held on as they kept control of the game with Kurisaru kicking in the crucial points.

Star turn: Apart from his goal kicking Kurisaru masterminded Suva’s play and kept Namosi at bay.

Big play: The big Suva forwards stood their ground as they controlled the game which frustrated their counterparts as they gave away easy penalties.

Comments: Suva co-coach Akuila Nasi said: “It’s a good win for us and our players did well. Kurisaru was our man of the match and the rest of the players played their part as well. Every game is crucial for us and we will now focus on our next opponent.”

Namosi coach Max Hughes said:

“Suva was a better side in the end and we now have to improve before our next match.
