Vodafone Fijian 7s coach Ben Ryan hopes the men and women rugby teams at the Rio Olympics will inspire the children of Fiji that nothing is impossible.

Ryan made the comments after receiving $10,000 from the staff of Williams and Gosling for the ‘Road to Gold’ campaign in Suva yesterday.

He is optimistic both the men and women teams will win medals at the Olympics to prove to the children of Fiji that anything is possible.

“When you see a young female or man from Fiji on a podium on a global event, they would  want to be like him or her,”Ryan said.

“Hopefully they will be able to do is look at that and say anything is possible.

“You can come from the same village, settlement and region and you can make it to the highest level just to show it is possible,” he said.

William and Gosling’s head of sports/social, Willie Lockwood thanked the two teams for their hard work and dedication and assured the teams of their full support.

“The teams always inspire our children. Our children look up to you and for that we thank you and ask you to keep up the good work. Keep up the good role model that you are to our little ones who will be following in the footsteps in the not too distant future.

“We want you to show you our little support that the staff contributed.

“We’re supporting you by wearing all our t-shirts and whatever we give to you today we hope that you’ll do us proud and do our country proud by bringing us that gold medal.”

The ‘Road to Gold ’campaign was driven by ardent rugby support group fundraising for the Fijian men and women teams for the Rio Olympics next month.
