$10k from New India Assurance for global forum

New India Assurance has also come forward with its support for the Alliance for Financial Inclusion Global Policy Forum being organised by the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
New India Assurance chief operating officer, Subhash Mehta, has handed over a cheque of $10,000 to Reserve Bank of Fiji Governor Barry Whiteside this week.
The event will be held at the Denarau Convention Centre on Denarau Island from September 5 to 9 and will attract 500 or so foreign delegates.
Mr Whiteside said the upcoming annual Global Policy Forum shall prove to be a beacon of novel financial initiatives not only for Fiji but for the entire regime of the Pacific Island countries.
The event shall have an all inclusive ramification on the global economy and shall also provide an opportunity to Fiji to showcase their culture and enriched legacy of heritage to the world, Mr Whiteside said.
Meanwhile, Mr Mehta said: “Kudos to Governor Whiteside on managing to secure such a prestigious event to be hosted in Fiji.
“New India Assurance assures their wholehearted co-operation in furtherance of the objectives of financial inclusion.
He said New India Assurance aims to focus on micro insurance which will help in enriching insurance penetration to SMEs and downtroddens of the society.
He reaffirmed support to Fiji whom New Indian Assurance has been serving since 1954.
