LICI gives $25,000 To RBF For Global Policy Forum

Sponsorship support to the Reserve Bank of Fiji for the upcoming Alliance for Financial Inclusion, Global Policy Forum, continues to flow in.
The Life Insurance Corporation of India, Fiji Operations, yesterday handed over a cheque of $25,000 to RBF Governor, Barry Whiteside, as part of its support.
The Global Policy Forum will be held at the Denarau Convention Centre on Denarau Island from September 5 to 9.
LICI Fiji Operations general manager, Sanjay Dayal, stressed one of the objectives of LICI was to spread life insurance widely and in particular to the socially and economically backward classes.
He said this was with the view to reaching all insurable persons and providing them adequate financial cover against death at a reasonable cost.
“LICI would be taking one more step towards fulfilling of this objective by being part of this prestigious forum for Financial Inclusion,” he said.
Mr Whiteside thanked LICI for this sponsorship which will assist the RBF in co-hosting the event, which is focused on the development and improvement of the National Financial Inclusion Strategies and Policies.

Mr Dayal said thanked RBF for their continuous guidance and support.
He emphasised that LICI has been conducting business in Fiji for the past 60 years now, with utmost economy and with the full realisation that the money belongs to the policyholders.
“This is the reason LICI has been able to give an all-time high bonus of $10.13 million to its policyholders for 2015,” he said.
“LICI is the market leader in Fiji with the market share of 59 per cent in Policies and 64 per cent in Premium Income.
“The present team of LICI Officials is implementing the strategies towards fulfilling the objectives of LICI with a long term vision for LICI Fiji Operations.”
