The Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation (PIPSO) will hold its 10th annual general meeting today at the Tanoa Skylodge Hotel in Nadi.

PIPSO chief executive, Mereia Volavola, said the agenda will cover a range of items for discussions which include internal reporting.

She said PIPSO’s work with national private sector organisations (NPSO) is enhanced with support from partner agencies.

She said the attendance of these partners reflects the importance of collaboration with PIPSO as the peak body representing private sector interests in the region.

Ms Volavola said it is important that PIPSO members take part in formulating PIPSO’s strategic plan for the next three years.

“It is their organisation and they will determine PIPSO’s strategic focus especially with regards to private sector development,” she said.

“This meeting is also an important opportunity for members to know about the various funding and technical resources available regionally and internationally where they can tap into for their development.”

The AGM will be attended by PIPSO members, the National Private Sector Organisation representatives from the 15 Pacific island countries and territories.

The AGM follows on from a two-day Strategic Planning and a Capacity Building Workshop.

The AGM will also include the election of new Board Members.
