Fiji National University Picks Miss Vueti

Mokani villager Reijeli Vueti wants to make a difference in society and empower our youths.
This is the driving passion behind Ms Vueti, who is a queen contestant representing the Fiji National University (FNU) at the 2016 Vodafone Hibiscus Festival.
Growing up at Nasolo Village in Ba, and seeing many school dropouts and youth unemployment broke her heart.
“I believe every young person has the ability to excel, they need to utilise their skills and god gifted talent,” she said.
“I’m passionate about youth empowered because I saw at a young age how my cousin and uncles were school drop-outs. I wanted to become a difference in the family.
“I owe everything to my grandmother, who took care of me and my five siblings and raised us through all the hardships we faced in life.”
Ms Vueti is a year two student studying Veterinary Science.
She is thankful to the university and students for their support and choosing her to be their queen representative.
“The university recognised the need to educate, support and empower young people with the implementation of outreach training to remote areas,” she said.
The staff and management of FNU Nasinu Campus hosted their queen contestant yesterday.
