McDonald’s Backs Campaign

McDonald’s Fiji gave $25,000 to the ‘Road to Gold’ campaign committee yesterday.
The funds were collected from a fundraising drive which the restaurant did around the country which started in May. The customers purchased small paper rugby balls for a dollar, putting their name on it and it goes for display in the shop.
Receiving the cheque was co-chair of the ‘Road to Gold’ fundraising committee Litiana Loabuka who was amazed with the funds donated and acknowledged McDonald’s Fiji managing director Marc McElrath.
“We want to thank Marc and his team for their support towards this road to gold programme,” Loabuka said.
McElrath strongly feels the amount raised would not be possible through the support of the public.
“Thank you everyone for the support in a very short time in helping the team go to Rio and come back with the gold,” he said.
“We are absolutely proud of the support from the people of Fiji. On behalf of the staff, we wish the boys the very best in Rio.”
