Ro Teimumu Flies The Papuan Flag

Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa was part of the Fiji Solidarity Movement for West Papua Freedom who took to the streets of Suva yesterday.
Ro Teimumu was among key supporters towards the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP). They walked towards Parliament from Ra Marama House with the Morning Star flag.
The movement is in support for ULMWP’s representatives who will be following up their application for full membership (and not observers) in the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) at the MSG meeting in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
The supporters also boarded a bus and travelled around Suva while displaying the Morning Star flag before attending a candlelight and prayer vigil for the people of West Papua at Quality House.
The event also marked the end of a three-day of solidarity led by the Pacific Islands Association of NGOs (PIANGO), Pacific Network on Globalisation (PANG) and the Pacific Conference of Churches (PCC).
Over the three days, the Fiji Solidarity Movement for West Papua called on the support of Fijians and Suva residents using the West Papua flag as their profile picture on social media and be displayed in homes, cars and offices.
The ULMWP was founded on December 7, 2014 by different factions of independence movement in West Papua forming a united front to re-submit a fresh application for membership of the MSG.
