Datec: Business Has Increased After Vodafone Takeover

Datec (Fiji) Limited’s business has increased up to 40 per cent after Vodafone (Fiji) Limited take over last year. This was confirmed by the Datec, general manager, Ateen Kumar, yesterday.

Datec (Fiji) Limited’s business has increased up to 40 per cent after Vodafone (Fiji) Limited take over last year.

This was confirmed by the Datec, general manager, Ateen Kumar, yesterday.

“We now have a strong backing and basic assurance that we are going to deliver,” Mr Kumar told the Fiji Sun.

“We have also learnt from the issues of the past and grown as we continue to invest in our people.”

Mr Kumar said they were looking forward to investing in their people capital and to ensure that they give the right solutions to customers.

The company continues to hire more graduates and IT trainees to ensure the people are attended to efficiently.

Mr Kumar reflected on the financial performance of Datec prior to acquisition and now.

“The new financial year that ended for us in March has seen improved business, financial stability and turnover as well,” highlighted Mr Kumar.

He said he cannot reveal the figures as they go back to the parent company Vodafone then to ATH (a listed company) and later gets reflected in their annual report.

 

Vodafone takeover

Vodafone (Fiji) acquired 100 per cent Datec shares the past year in mid-May.

Datec continues to operate independently and all customer and supplier relationships, contracts and commitments remain intact.

This combination has been done to create access to an expanded addressable market with improved and sustainable long term growth opportunities.
