The constant travel from Nadroga to Suva was a real challenge for Tevita Ratubuli.

But at yesterday’s Service Pro International Tourism and Hospitality Institute graduation, the sacrifice was all well worth it.

24-year-old Tevita is determined to utilise his award in Certificate of Cooking and Baking to better his life and that of his family.

“I am so happy achieving this certificate today because cooking and baking is my passion and it’s something I want to serve my customers with new skills and better tastes.”

“At first, taking this course was a bit challenging for me especially travelling from Nadroga but I had the support of my mother who financially and emotionally supported me with all she could just to see me graduate,” Tevita said.

He said his mother is the one who taught him how to cook at home before he took up the cooking and baking course.

“Attending cooking and baking classes here, I am sure that I can serve our tourists with the great taste of food they love to eat.”
