BRED Group is expanding its footprint in the region. It has received an interim 12 month licence to carry out banking services as a Financial Institution in the Solomon Islands.

And so, BRED Bank Fiji has welcomed BRED Bank Solomon Islands to the Group.

Central Bank of Solomon Islands Governor General, Denton Rarawa, said BRED Bank will bring extra competition to the financial sector in the Solomon Islands and will provide additional choices to the banking public.

He said BRED’s entry into the country will lead to a transfer of technical skills and knowledge.

BRED Bank has appointed Owen Thomson as the CEO of BRED Bank Solomon’s.

The Bank’s Chairman of the Board of Directors is confident Mr Thomson will readily embrace the challenges ahead and will be able to assist in BRED’s aim to support businesses throughout the region with growth and development.

Not only this, they believe Mr Thomson will assist in increasing BRED’s presence as a group in the Pacific with sister banks in Vanuatu, Fiji and affiliates in New Caledonia and Tahiti.

With this increased presence in the Pacific, BRED Bank is able to create stronger synergies and relationship value for its customers through fostering new business opportunities.

This is not only within the region, but also in Asia, North Africa, Europe and the rest of the world.
