Talking to those lurking listeners

One can never be too careful these days while talking on mobile phones. Not with so much in the air about those Big Brothers down south listening in on the conversations.

Senior Government man decided to give the lurking listeners an earful the other day in a phone call to one of our journalists.

He used words we will not print here to give the listeners some tips on how they should treat their indigenous people.

Media Association back in business

Signs that the once seemingly dormant Fijian Media Association is springing back to life.

Reports say that a reasonable crowd turned up at the Royal Suva Yacht Club last night for an association social event.

The hope is that this will in turn lead to a good turn out for the association’s annual general meeting.

This is at the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation on Wednesday 27 July.

Offside with rugby

Don’t be surprised if certain “important” sporting people are missing from the Grand Pacific Hotel, Suva, tonight during the announcement of our Olympic national men and women’s rugby sevens teams.

Their attitudes on issues involving the sevens teams have not endeared them to rugby people.
