Our U23 Footballers To Rio

FASANOC has finally endorsed the National Men’s Under-23 football team to next month’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The announcement of the 18-member squad was done by Fiji Football Association’s competition manager Amitesh Pal at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Suva yesterday.
Pal said they are yet to select their captain but the contenders are defender Alvin Singh who led the side on their recent tour to Spain and Brazil and Wellington Phoenix striker and National Men’s captain Roy Krishna.
As per the Olympic rules, the team can bring in three players who are over the age of 23.
For Fiji’s case they have brought in Krishna, Singh and veteran goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.
The National U23 side are pooled with defending Olympic champions Mexico, South Korea and Germany.
Fijian U23 Squad: Shaneel Naidu, Praneel Naidu, Samuela Nabenia, Jale Dreloa, Anish Khem, Roy Krishna, Antonio Tuivuna, Sakaraia Naisua, Nickel Chand, Filipe Baravilala, Setareki Hughes, Tevita Waranaivalu, Savenaca Nakalevu, Iosefo Verevou, Kolinio Sivoki, Simione Tamanisau, Saula Waqa, Alvin Singh.
