A man charged with the murder of a former journalist will have his trial in October.
Usaia Kilaiverata, 29 appeared at the Suva High Court yesterday.
Justice Priyantha Fernando has further remanded the accused in custody.
Kilaiverata is charged for the murder of former journalist Losana McGowan on April 4 in her flat in Suva.
It is alleged that Ms McGowan died after a quarrel with Kilaiverata early that morning after they returned from a night out in the city.
The prosecution told the court that they had seven witnesses for the trial.
Kilaiverata informed the court that he would like to represent himself and he also told the court that he had not received any disclosures from the state.
State prosecutors told the court that they had it on record that he did receive the disclosures.
Justice Fernando told Kilaiverata to not lie in court because he would be found out.
The court has been adjourned to September 13 for mention.
