Suva Businesswoman Narayan  Is Found Guilty Of Stealing

A Suva businesswoman was yesterday found guilty of theft by the Suva Magistrates Court.

Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne found Prathisna Narayan, the owner of Tulips Beauty and Fashion, guilty of seven counts of theft amounting to $30,561.15.

This took place while Narayan was employed by Morris Hedstrom as a wholesale supervisor from 2002 to 2012.

She will be sentenced on August 4.

Narayan has been given 28 days to appeal her conviction.

For the first count between November 11, 2011 and November 14, 2011 Narayan stole $3800 cash belonging to Morris Hedstrom; For the second count on December 14, 2011 Narayan stole $3114.60 cash; For the third count on December 29, 2011 Narayan stole $5916; For the fourth count on January 3, 2012 Narayan stole $4180.55 cash; For the fifth count on January 4, 2012 Narayan stole $5700 cash; For the sixth count on February 10, 2012 Narayan stole $1925 cash; and for the seventh count on February 21, 2012 Narayan stole $5925 cash.
