The Bank of Baroda (BOB) Labasa branch celebrated its 109th anniversary with loyal business customers in Labasa on Monday.

The customers were informed by the bank’s Labasa branch manager, Uday Singh, who said the bank was founded on July 20, 1908 by the Maharaja of Baroda and Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III,  in the princely state of Baroda in Gujarat, India.

“BOB is an Indian state-owned banking and financial services company and the headquarters is at Vadodara (earlier known as Baroda) in Gujarat, India,” Mr Singh said.

“It is the second largest bank in India after the State Bank of India.

“The bank has a network of 5326 branches in India and abroad, and over 8000 Automated Teller Machines.”

Mr Singh said to over 30 customers gathered at the bank, that the bank staff would continue to provide efficient service to them.

Amongst the customers, the Fiji Bus Operators Association president, Parmod Chand, congratulated the bank on their anniversary and shared his good experience and services provided to them by the bank.
