Cadet training is meant to help instil important virtues like discipline, respect, courage and team work which are good for the students throughout their lives, says Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto.

The Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces stressed this to 1249 cadets of Natabua High School on Friday in Lautoka.

He said: “It is always a blessing to witness the Natabua High School cadet passing out parade. After all this is where school cadet started and because of that there is always an expectation that your parade will be of the highest standard.”

While congratulating the cadets, he said the parade met his expectations and told the students to be proud of their performances.

“To the parents and family members your children and grandchildren, your nephews and nieces have through this passing out parade offer you a glimpse of their talents and potential. I am sure they will make you proud as they advance through their matured lives and take up various roles in the career and careers they choose,” he said.

Natabua High School parade commander, cadet major Robert Konousi said there were 180 Year 13 student graduates who took part on Friday.

“This is for the second consecutive year that we have also had more than 1200 cadets participating in the parade and it is a milestone achievement,” he said.

Cadet Major Konousi was the recipient of the Baton of Honour this year.

The school also used drones to record the parade and formations.
