Parents and guardians of the Sunshine Special School in Lautoka will no longer worry about their children travelling to and from school.

That’s because the school was handed a new 30-seater bus donated by the Japanese government.

The second secretary of the Embassy of Japan, Masayuki Ikeda, on Friday said not only does the special school management have to ensure the safety of its students in the school, but to ensure that the students were transported with special care outside the school as well.

The project is funded under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Programme (GPP).

“This assistance is also in line with the Fijian Government’s Policy to strengthen and support the special and inclusive Education sector for improved and effective service delivery,” Mr Ikeda said.
