Two Chinese nationals appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday in relation to alleged general dishonesty to obtain a gain.

Duan Yan, 53, a businessman, and Liu Yang, 41 appeared before Magistrate Waleen George who has remanded them in custody.

Police Prosecutor Inspector Rajesh Krishna served first phase disclosures.

The two asked for a Mandarin language interpreter for which Magistrate George has ordered the court to engage an interpreter for the next date.

Magistrate George told the defence to make a formal bail application to which the prosecution is asked to respond.

The court has been adjourned to August 10 for bail hearing.
