A 30 year old carrier driver of Rarawai, Ba died following a motor vehicle accident this morning.
The victim was driving towards Ba town with another 48 year old man when their vehicle veered onto the opposite lane and swiped the right side of an oncoming vehicle.
This resulted in the vehicle going off road and tumbling before landing upside down near a cane field. The incident occurred around 2am this morning.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead. The 48 year old passenger was also treated as investigations continue.
The road death toll stands at 32 compared to 34 for the same period last year.
