The Vuetiau Co-operative Limited yesterday achieved another milestone as it opened its second poultry shed, worth $200,000, in Waiwai, Ba.

The co-operative’s first poultry shed was opened in 2015 through Government funding under the Integrated Human Resources Development Programme.

Project manager Peni Kinilovo said the project was funded by the Ba United Pentecostal Church through its business arm, Vuetiau Co-operatives.

“The poultry shed breeds chicken for outsourcing, and we are contracted to Rooster Poultry Future Farms Limited. The chicken bred in these sheds are supplied to them,” Mr Kinilovo said.

At least 18,000 chickens could be homed in each shed and he was already looking to build the third shed with the help of the Government, he said.

Present at the official opening ceremony was general manager of Rooster Poultry Future Farms Limited Stanley Raniga who was glad to see the co-operative grow.

“Vuetiau Co-operative Limited is one of our contract chicken growers and we are delighted to see the growth,” Mr Raniga said.
