INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants (B.O.G) defending champions Rewa faces Nadi, Suva and Dreketi in Pool A next month.

The tournament which will be held from August 26-28 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, has Ba, Lautoka, Labasa and Nadroga in Pool B.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said every year the tournament gets tougher especially with the introduction of 90 minutes football.

“I know the teams are preparing well and it would be hard to predict the winner,” Patel said.

“The teams will have ample time to prepare for the tournament and come competition day I know they will all deliver. The introduction of 90-minute football has paid dividends. Our U20 team participated at the World Cup and now they are in the Rio Olympics in Brazil.

“This was something that we reminded the districts, the nation that football at large will benefit from.”

INKK Mobile has given $60,000 to sponsor the tournament.

“INKK Mobile has been a partner with Fiji Football for eight years now,” Patel said.

“We had a successful Fiji FACT 2016 in Labasa and this is the second major tournament, the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants.”

INKK Mobile operations manager Amitesh Narayan said they are proud to be part of such an important event.

“The tournament has grown and this marks our eighth year. It has come a long way since its initiation nine years ago living up to its commitment of introducing the best mobile deals for our customers.

“We acknowledge the efforts of Fiji Football in their part in organising this tournament and we wish all participating teams the best for the tournament.”

The winner receive $15,000, runner-up $5,000 while the two semifinalists will receive $1,000 each. The group stages will be held at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori and the semifinals and grandfinal venue will be decided later.
