Suva Football Association president Mahendra Prasad is confident coach Gurjit Singh can produce positive result at the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants (B.O.G.) from August 26-28 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

This was after Suva lost 3-0 to Nadi in the final of the 2016 Vodafone Fijian FACT final at the same venue earlier this month.

“We cannot satisfy everyone but majority of the people support Gurjit and I stand by his side as the coach for the team,” Prasad said.

“Gurjit is in the United States and he will remain our coach. Suva is now a consistent team not like before where we lose and win.

“Since being coach of the team, Gurjit has not won any B.O.G. tournament so I think he will work hard with the team to get the results.

“Of course people will have their own opinions on what they think is right and should be done but Suva has improved and we will continue to improve. We need the support of the people of Suva,”

With the launch of the INKK Mobile B.O.G. tournament at Fiji Football Association in Suva yesterday,  They have been drawn in a tough pool with defending champions Rewa, Nadi and Dreketi.

“I think it is an even pool, we always say that the best prepared team will win the B.O.G so we need to start preparing,” he said.

“We’ve won every tournament except B.O.G. and we will be trying our best to win.”
