Patients Commend Ba Hospital

My daughter was well looked after, says Niazul Feroza appreciating the staff of the hospital
The mother of a patient at the Ba Mission Hospital yesterday commended the staff for their excellent services and proper care.
Niazul Feroza, whose daughter was admitted at the women’s ward, told the Minister for Health Jone Usamate that she had no complaints and her daughter was looked after well for the two days by the staff.
“The services are marvellous. My daughter has been well looked after,” Ms Feroza informed Mr Usamate who visited the hospital to monitor the progress of the ministry’s ‘high level action programme’ implemented in hospitals nationwide.
In response Mr Usamate said: “This hospital is one of two most challenging places to operate. I appreciate the hard work of the staff at the Ba hospital. Even though the hospital building is very old, patients are happy with the services.”
He visited the patients in the different wards and spoke to them.
He reiterated to the officials that cleanliness of the hospital must be a priority along with proper communication of information with the patients. For the second quarter, the hospital received only one complaint, which was on the sales of junk food in the hospital cafeteria.
However, Mr Usamate said the ministry was laying out a strategy where the hospital cafeterias would only be selling healthy food items.
“This is in order to promote healthy and non-communicable disease free environment. We should set the example of healthy living,” Mr Usamate said.
Meanwhile, he says the Ba hospital continues to face shortage of nurses.
Mr Usamate also visited the Tavua and Rakiraki Hospitals.
