Lami will need to win their game against Nasinu this week in order to qualify from the southern zone in the Vodafone Senior League.

Remaining undefeated in the competition, Lami pulled another win beating Northland Tailevu 3-1 at the Fiji Football Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa yesterday.

Lami’s Rajnesh Kumar scored a hat-trick while Rashneel Prasad got one for Northland Tailevu.

Under  former Nasinu coach Abdul Zaman, Lami has improved immensely this year and are aiming to go all the way and win the Vodafone Senior for the first time.

“Last year we did not do very well and were at the bottom of the table but this year the boys have proven themselves,” Zaman said.

“Since I joined the team this year, I have put in a new structure and formation for the team.

“We have come back strongly this year and remained unbeaten in the competition which is a positive sign for the future.

“I am happy with how the team is looking so far.”

Despite their unbeaten run, Zaman said they still have a lot to do in order to improve as a team.

“The boys did their part even though we lost a lot of scoring opportunities against Northland Tailevu,” he said.

“Our finishing is really important if we want to win games more convincingly.”
