Team Fiji men’s boxing coach Napolean Taumoepeau is confident that welterweight boxer Winston Hill would have a positive outing at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 22-year-old Juju native from Rotuma is the country’s lone boxing rep to the Olympics after a 28-year lapse.

“Winston is a world class boxer and in those levels anything can happen,” Taumoepeau said.

“Anyone can beat anyone at any given time and a lot can happen in a very short period of time. I’m happy with the way he has taken off in training and his physical fitness is to the roof.

“It is not his physical fitness but his mental preparation for Rio and we must be mentally prepared. When we are in this level of competition it can go any other way, but I feel very good”.

He said their last week of training in Suva was the hardest.

“We had Joseph Kwadjo to help us out which gave Winston the much needed boost.”

Furthermore Hill says, his last training session with Kwadjo had actually a helped him lift his performance.
