Team Fiji officials led by chef de mission Cathy Wong went around Deodoro, Brazil yesterday to inspect all sporting venues. Deodoro will host rugby sevens and shooting, which our lone shooter and medal hope Glen Kable will be participating in.

“We are impressed with the facilities and also we are looking forward to the competition,” she said.

PM AT FLAG RAISING CEREMONY

The Team Fiji flag raising ceremony will be held at the Games Village later today with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and the country’s Ambassador to Brazil, Pita Tuiloma present.

“The flag raising ceremony is the official ceremony where the flag will be officially raised in the village in recognition that Fiji is now in the village,” Wong said.

SEVENS ARRIVAL

The Team Fiji men and women’s rugby sevens team are set to arrive in Rio on Friday (local time) and skipper Osea Kolinisau will be Fiji’s flag bearer during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
