Judging for Project Jejemon Designer and Model Awards took place on Monday at The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation.

The awards now in its second year is the spin off from FBC TV’s popular Jejemon show that airs weekly on Thursday at 8 pm on FBC TV.

This year’s competition will showcase over 70 locally designed garments that will feature in 5 categories.

Project Jejemon producer and TV host Andhy Blake said that the standard of garments in this year’s show exceeded last year.

It is exciting to showcase local talent and their interpretation of fashion. Designers have really focused a lot more on their garments this year and our platform is excited to showcase their creativity, he said.

Judges for this year’s awards are Suva lawyer Jon Apted, fashion designer Samson Lee and model Bridget Middenway Blumel.

A total of 20 models will walk the runway this Saturday.

Tickets to the fashion awards cost $100 that includes a 1 hour cocktail at The Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva and can be purchased at Broadcasting House, 69 Gladstone Road in Suva.
