Farina Works On Best 11

Team Fiji men’s football skipper Roy Krishna is ready to lead the team in their historic Olympic Games opener against South Korea tomorrow morning.
Yesterday, training under tight military security in Salvador, Fiji head coach Frank Farina was finalising his combination before naming his line-up today.
It is tipped that veteran Rewa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau is going to get the nod ahead of Shaneel Naidu. The backs are likely to be led by Alvin Singh, Fiji Under-20 skipper Jale Dreloa, Filipe Baravilala and Anish Khem.
Khem who plays striker for Nadi had been moved to defence during the build-up tours to Spain and Brazil.
The midfield combination from last year’s FIFA U20 World Cup could be retained- they are Tevita Waranivalu, Nickel Chand, Setareki Hughes and Atonio Tuivuna. Leading the charge upfront are Krishna and Iosefo Verevou.
Also forcing their way into the team are, Savenavc Nakalevu, Samuela Waqa and Waitakere United FC midfielder Joseph Turagabeci
When contacted, Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel called on the nation to back our football team in their first ever Olympic Games.
“I also call on those who are anti-Fiji FA for the sake of our beloved country to please put their differences aside and support our football team,” he said.
The match will be shown live on TV at 10.50am tomorrow.
