New Promoter Gets Green Light
Local fans can expect another boxing fiesta at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi on September 17.
This was after the Boxing Commission of Fiji director Usman Lale Ali gave new boxing promoter Mohammed Saheen Riaz the green light yesterday.
“We’ve given his license for the fight as he has fulfilled the requirements needed,” he said.
“Riaz has been a big follower of the sport and we hope with his promotion should take the sport to another level.”
Riaz promised to stage six top fights with few exhibition bouts.
“I wanted to assist the Ministry of Youth and Sports, BCF and the boxing fans to bring life to the sports once again.”
He promised to bring top boxers for his promotion for future programmes.
Meanwhile, Majestic Promotion Sudesh Kumar is planning to stage a fight on December 17 at Subrail Park in Labasa.
