Highland youngsters from the upper reaches of Ba province visit urban sites

The students of Vunamoli kindergarten in the highlands of Ba visited the Fiji Sun Nadi office yesterday.

This tour was part of their pre-school week celebration excursion.

Teacher Mere Masi said the trip was to help students get exposure and perhaps plan their career paths early.

Ms Masi also said the trip was to broaden the students’ and parents knowledge on how newspapers were produced and how news was gathered by journalists.

She said the trip was also a chance for the students and parents to visit some facilities that they have not seen.

This was to get an insight of the operational works carried out in Nadi.

“This is a scheduled educational trip for these students to see and influence them to be aware of the developments that is happening in their township.” Ms Masi said.

The students also visited the Nadi International Airport, Loloma Home and Care Centre in Sabeto and finally a picnic at Wailoaloa beach.

Meanwhile last Monday was a memorable day to the people of Vunamoli village as they witnessed the opening of the pre-school week.

The two kindergartens from Nasesevia (Burua) and Vunamoli were joined by their senior students from Burua primary and Nasesevia Secondary School.

Ms Masi thanked their school principal Mesulame Uluimoala and head teacher Jeremaia Tuwai for their kind support.
