Gospel Primary School has started preparations early for the Suva Zone One and Central Division Chow Games yesterday at the ANZ Stadium.

Assistant head teacher/meet manager Sisilia Cokanauto said the competition has been an eye opener for most of the students.

“Competitions are going well because for the last couple of years, children have been having their inter-house in school.

It’s after about three years that we are finally having it at the ANZ Stadium,” Cokanauto said.

“It’s an exciting experience because this is the first time for some of the children to be running on stadium track.”

The inter-house is not just a way to bring students together to participate in sports but to also look for potential athletes to represent the school at upcoming athletics meets.

“It was a great opportunity to organize an inter-house meet which is a good way to get the students to participate in sports,” she said.

“The whole school participated including Year One and Two it’s about the children having fun and getting involved with sport.

“This is also a good platform for the students to showcase their talent as we are also looking to also select potential athletes to represent the school.”

The Central Division Chow Games will be held in November.
