Help Pours In For Family Of Detained Fijian

Assistance had started pouring in for the family of Lasarusa Senitoarau, who is currently detained in Australia.

Yesterday, an email received by this newspaper, BNG Investments managing director Bruce Grady from Australia, had volunteered to assist the detainee’s family.

It was reported the 44-year-old Fijian was arrested in Brisbane for drug related charges and is currently detained at the Arthur Gorrie Correction Centre.

Mr Grady said they had contacted the correction centre and they had confirmed that Lasarusa was detained there.

He also plans to pay a visit to the accused soon, he said.

“As I live in Queensland, the correction centre is only a few hours’ drive away,” he said.

Mr Grady said they were willing to assist him and his family here in Fiji.

He had informed the accused that he was in a position to assist him because he was a regular visitor here.

“I have many friends in Fiji and recently visited Suva.

“We were aware you have a wife and a young family at home, which must be difficult for all concerned,” Mr Grady said.

An anonymous person from Australia had also come in to assist.

Senitoarau’s wife, Arieta Sisilia is overwhelmed by the many people coming on board to assist her.

“I just want to thank the Almighty for hearing our prayers and this is something I have been praying for, someone to help my husband and children,” she said.
