Cakaudrove got off to a good start in the 2016 Vodafone Trophy after beating Northern Bulls 12-10 in round one at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori yesterday.

With the aim of exposing their new players to a different level of competition, manager Pita Ralaca said they are on the right track.

“It was a very tough game especially when most of my boys are new to this competition,” Ralaca said.

“We want to expose our boys and get them some experience because we only have four from the team last year.

“We want to start from the bottom and make our way up but to do that we need to learn and improve every week.

Meeting Serua next week in round two, Ralaca said they are expecting a tough game.

“We don’t want to be too sure of ourselves, we want to prepare accordingly and then do our talking on the field,” he said.

“It will not be an easy game and we know Serua will want to win their second game so we look forward to the challenge.”
