QVS Outclass Grammar

Queen Victoria School thrashed Suva Grammar School 29-0 in the semifinal of the Deans Trophy Under-14 grade at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.
The Victorians will play Ratu Sukuna Memorial in the final after they beat Marist Brothers High School 7-0 in the other semifinal.
QVS coach Jonasa Rinakama said the win was the result of the sacrifice by the players.
He said the players had to travel from different schools between Veisari outside Lami to Tobuniqio in Nausori to attend training.
“We were expecting a good game, credit to the boys for sacrificing their time to come to the training. All players are attending different schools and everybody stood out and did their best.”
Rinakama commended his captain and halfback Moape Rokosuka who was outstanding and also scored a try.
His son, Ropate Rinakama played at centre.
Rinakama said the secret to playing well in the Deans competition was to give every player game time to pick the best possible team.
Rinakama thanked the Queen Victoria Old Boys Association and the parents for supporting the team.
