The Sefanaia Takape-coached St John’s College Under-17 side achieved one of the major upsets at the Coca-Cola Zero Deans semifinals at Lawaqa Park yesterday.

The Cawaci, Ovalau based team fought to upset Lelean Memorial School 7-5. The winning try was scored by number eight Veniasi Vosawale which was converted by first–five eighth Vitali Roqica.

LMS lock forward Peni Matala scored for the team to lead 5-0 at halftime.

“We would like to thank the Lord who has been our source of strength” Tawake said.

“The boys dug deep and showed that they really wanted to win.

Meanwhile QVS edged Natabua 15-13 after both teams were locked 10-10 at halftime.

QVS coach Ratu Jese Rinakama said they are looking forward to the final against SJC.
