Police hunt for missing vehicle
Police are appealing to the public to keep a look out for a black Honda CRV registration FH 787 that was stolen during an early morning robbery on Saturday in Samabula.
“The vehicle was stolen from the home of a businessman after 1am in the morning by two unknown men who entered the home of the victim, who was alone at the time of the incident,” the Police statement said. Anyone who may have seen the vehicle or knows information that could assist investigators is requested to call Crime Stoppers on 919 or 9905-399.
43% of road deaths are pedestrians
Fiji Police Force Director of Traffic Senior Superintendent Mahesh Mishra yesterday said of the 35 deaths recorded on our roads this year, 15 have been pedestrians.
“(This) once again in renewing our call for everyone to understand that they have a role to play in road safety,” SSP Mishra said.
“Also with the school holidays just around the corner, we are again requesting parents and guardians to reinforce the issue of road safety to our children. Of the 15 pedestrian deaths, four have been children under 10 years of age.”
