What’s On Today: Tulo Ready To Lift

Manueli Tulo is in good shape to participate in today’s men’s 56kg category. This was confirmed by weightlifting section manager Atma Maharaj.
“Tulo is looking fit and fine he was training under the guidance of Paul Coffa at the weightlifting institute in New Caledonia,” Maharaj said.
“He is in very good shape and very confident.”
Tulo’s first Olympic Game was in London in 2012.
SHOOTING
Fijian shooter Glen Kable is all set to participate for his qualification round in the Trap event at the Deodoro shooting ground today. Kable was the first Fijian athlete to arrive in Rio and was acclimatising for the past two weeks.
“I know what to expect in this competition, I have been shooting for a long time,” he said.
“I was able to prepare in advance on what is required for the Olympics.”
The former World Cup winner has never won a medal after representing Fiji at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.
“I’m focussing on the competition more and I’m excited as well,” he added.
BOXING
Welterweight boxer Winston Hill is ready for his fight today in round 32 of the men’s 69kg category.
Hill missed the opening ceremony and has been sacrificing his time in the gym since arriving in Rio last Friday. He is confident of a positive finish.
