Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) leader Sitiveni Rabuka has insisted that his trip to Australia is non-political.

The former Prime Minister was responding to claims that he was there for political campaigns.

Mr Rabuka said he visited Australia yearly to attend religious functions.

“Let me make myself clear, I am here for a church function which I attend every year during my trip to Australia,” Mr Rabuka said.

“I am not here for any political matters and people should not be misinformed.”

Mr Rabuka was welcomed by the Canterbury Uniting Church in Sydney on Sunday.

The church’s Men’s Fellowship meet will be held at the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.

Mr Rabuka said he would be speaking to Fijians in Sydney.
