The Under-11- U14 grades will play four quarters in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the Punjas/Digicel Primary School Netball competition at the National Netball Centre today.

Games coordinator Jona Saturu said the introduction of the four quarters is to help get young netters adjusted to the sport at a young age.

“You only play four quarters in netball when you play in top competitions, we do not introduce it at this level,” Saturu said.

“The quicker we get them adjusted to playing four quarters the better they will be at the sport and know what it is takes to actually play quarters instead of halves.”

Under-9 and Under-10 will be excluded from playing the four quarters in their knockout rounds.

“I would like to thank Punjas and Digicel for the support and we hope that we will maintain the sponsorship with them and not forgetting Netball Fiji and I want to thank the districts for coming into this competition.”
