Lianshan Art Group from Guangdong Province of China will take part in the country’s biggest carnival spectacle.

A Chinese art group will be here to take part in the annual 2016 Vodafone Hibiscus Festival.

The China Cultural Centre here is bringing in the Lianshan Art Group from Guangdong Province to perform at the Vodafone Hibiscus Festival.

The Lianshan Art Group consists of 27 people, including performers and handcraft artisans.

They specialise in singing, dancing and musical instruments of Yao Nationality, one of the 56 Nationalities of China.

They will take part in the opening parade and also perform at the opening ceremony on August 13, at the Queen’s judging in the evening, the King’s judging on August 14, and at the Asian Night for from 7pm to 9pm on August 15.

Two handcraft artisans will display weaving techniques of the Embroidery Balls traditionally used as love tokens among the young people of Yao Nationality at the China Cultural Centre booth.

On August 15, the art group will perform at the Fiji Museum for the children. The performers will teach traditional dancing, and the handcraft artisans will teach how to weave the embroidery balls.
