Dakuwaqa In Rawaca Out

Masivesi Dakuwaqa got his first feel of the Deodoro Stadium during the semi-final clash against Japan.
Fiji defeated Japan by four tries to one, 20 – 5.
Dakuwaqa replaced Savenaca Rawaca who is out injured.
Fijian coach, Ben Ryan said: “Save has a hand injury, had a scan and was ruled out. Masi has come in making our 12,” Ryan confirmed.
The Fijians will now face Great Britain in the main gold medal playoff.
The English side defeated South Africa in a very close encounter 7 – 5.
The boys are currently going through their recovery session after the Japan clash.
Ryan has reiterated that no Fijian would want a silver medal.
“You ask any Fijians around the planet and they will not be settling for a silver medal.”
Fiji made the perfect start when Vatemo Ravouvou broke around the side of the Japanese defence for the opening try. But he turned villain with a yellow card and Japan made the most of their extra man advantage with Teruya Goto powering over to tie the scores at 5-5.
An acrobatic dive from powerhouse Josua Tuisova ensured Fiji went into half-time ahead at 10-5 and they increased that advantage with tries by Semi Kunatani and Jerry Tuwai.
Lomano Lemeki also saw yellow. Japan, who have been hitting the headlines since day 1, battled to the finish but couldn’t deny Fiji a 20-5 win.
“ It was good we have made it to the final, we made silly yellow card, it just tells us to keep control and the boys controlled the game well,” Ryan said.
#FIJ have guaranteed their country’s first ever medal after reaching the final. Will Kunatani be key? #Rugby7shttps://t.co/Z2MeyfsbxB
