Vodafone Fiji is set to light up the stage again this year for the people of Nausori.

On Wednesday, Vodafone Fiji’s chief commercial officer, Ronald Prasad, launched the 2016 Vodafone Tebara Carnival at Patel Dhaba in Nakasi.

Last year, Vodafone Fiji helped revive the festival after a lapse of 12 years. This year, six contestants are vying for the crown. Sheryl Mudaliar is the reigning Miss Tebara.

“Once again, we are all ready to set the stage for the people of Nausori to celebrate the spirit of togetherness in a week long carnival for everyone to enjoy and support the noble cause of charity,” Mr Prasad said at the launch.

“Vodafone Fiji is delighted to once again partner with Nausori Town Council and Tebara Carnival Committee to bring to the people of Nausori to the much awaited festival.

“Six young and confident queen contestants vying for the crown will utilise this stage to raise awareness and advocate on the theme of “Go Green, Go Healthy”, in line with the development initiatives for Nausori Town.”

He said their commitment to support the carnival would see the people of Tailevu, Rewa and Naitasiri come together in a week of fun filled event at Syria Park.

“Together with the carnival organising committee and Nausori Town Council, we work towards taking the festival to greater heights,” Mr Prasad said.

The organising committee’s senior executive member Deo Raj thanked Vodafone Fiji for coming on board as sponsors.

“Through the support we have had been able to revive the carnival last year and this year we carry on the carnival to benefit our township,” he said.

The week-long carnival will take place from September 3 to 10.
