It Was Blood, Sweat And Tears, Says Winger

Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens powerhouse winger Josua Tuisova looked to the sky and thanked the Almighty for the historical moment of winning the country’s first-ever gold medal in the Olympic Games.
“Mission accomplished,” the 22-year-old Votua native from Ba told SUNsports yesterday.
“I thank the boys for today’s win, we wouldn’t have won this gold medal if it wasn’t for the dedication and sacrifice that we have made in the past few months of our preparation. Everyone was obedient to the coach, followed instructions and we just had patience right to the end.”
Tuisova has been the favourite of many rugby fans around the world with his aggressiveness in attack and ruthless in defence.
“I will definitely miss my team mates when I return to France on August 28. We have established a very strong bond within the team and I will definitely be missing my brothers.”
He dedicated the gold medal win to his mum and dad, villagers of Votua and families in Tauvegavega. Their support has enabled me to achieve this.”
Tuisova leaves Rio today as he heads back to Fiji to spend a week with his family in Ba before returning to France.
